Rilee - Prompting Self-Care
Rilee Moulton is an early adopter of the Prom[p]t products. They were a participant in the first beta-testing group when the Prom[p]t cards were a prototype and the idea was little more than a concept. Along with other practices, Rilee has chosen to utilize Prom[p]t as a tool for self-care. Below Rilee writes of a prom[p]t that brought deep insights into their personal journey. Thank you Rilee for guest blogging for us this month.

In one of Andrea’s blog posts, she talked about how a lot of folks are using the prompts in a variety of creative ways, i.e. painting and other art mediums, meditation, and using them to strengthen relationships. Similarly, I use the prompts to help inspire my art (watercolor/drawing) and as a form of self-care. When asked about which prompt had the greatest impact, I knew immediately that it was the one that informed my goals over the last six months.
To make the world a better place, I…
My initial reaction to this prompt was, “I don’t make the world a better place. There are so many things I should be doing to make the world a better place.” I reminded myself that I am using these prompts as a way to self-reflect and forced myself to start small. I made a list in my bullet journal/planner of “small but impactful” things that I do in our community. I eventually came up with a handful of things that I have initiated and/or volunteered for in our community over the last 9 years. And it didn’t end there--my weekly and monthly goals over the following months included creating a tangible impact.
Actionable steps
Now more than ever, we are able to access information rapidly using the internet and social media, but I think people often forget about the key element in creating change: action. If we want to make the world a better place, it starts within ourselves (through journaling or art or meditation) and then takes actionable steps in our communities. The Prom[p]t Journal Set encouraged me to seek out the little and big ways that I can make the world a better place, and I invite you to do the same.
I highly recommend this product--the art is beautiful and the prompts are awakening.

Rilee
