Time Saving Tips for Journalers
Time, it’s a finite resource - it only lasts so long. Once spent time, it becomes nonrefundable. We can not go back and get more time, it is not sold in stores, unearthed in mines, nor is it obtained from a large body of water. Once spent, memories become the only tangible exchange for our time.
Of course we all know these facts to be true. It’s what makes it difficult to decide where to spend and invest our precious time. There are jobs, family, hobbies, relationships, houses to clean, laundry to wash, meals to cook, and all the things of life to be done - to spend our time doing. These demands can make it difficult to spend time journaling. Regardless of all the benefits of journaling, it’s still hard to fit it into our daily lives. I know it’s a challenge for me, and something I struggle to get done. It’s okay to struggle with it and also find a way to improve or make it easier to find time to journal. Here’s some tips that have helped me:
Create a habit, write at the same time everyday
Exchange social media time for journaling time
Make journaling the only focus during this time slot
Create a designated spot for journaling tools, make them visible if possible
Turn phones on airplane mode and place electronic devices out of sight
While time spent doing all the chores of life can consume much of our time, it’s also important to fit in activities that enhance the time we do have, to invest our time. Journaling has so much to offer, both as an activity and as an investment. Hopefully these tips can help make it easier to find the time to experience the benefits of journaling.
