Can Valentine’s Day Love Be Re-framed?

Can Valentine’s Day love be re-framed to acknowledge those outside romance? On the whole, it seems this holiday has become over-marketed; reduced to a romantic statement of intimacy between 2 people ‘in love.’ But how many of us take this day to really, truly celebrate the ‘true loves’ we have in our lives… including our love for ourselves? Not that romantic love isn’t important; but what about our best friend since kindergarten? Or since high school? Or since college? Or even since last year? What about our parents, sister, brother, grandparents, who we have loved our entire lives? What about our children? What about the families we create? What about our pets? What about the person at the local coffeehouse who remembers our name every morning and starts our day out with that bright smile and the exact joe we love so much?

You may have noticed that we chose the URL (dot).love for our website. At Andrea & Co, we understand that humans are emotional beings and love helps satisfy this need. We resonate with the philosophy that ‘where there is love there is life.’ Engaginging a healthy loving relationship with others adds depth. In short, love connects us to others.

Let’s make this day an expression of love for all the loves in our lives. We love you and wish you a very Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love,

Andrea & Co
